Looking for a quick and easy snack or treat that is Mickey themed? Look no further. These pretzel treats are quick to make and add a little bit of Mickey magic to any party, playdate, hangout, or snack time.
Every year for the holidays my family and I make the same pretzel snack without it being Mickey themed. When I found myself with all the necessary ingredients and craving something salty and sweet, I decided to make them with a Disney themed twist.
Ingredients
- A bag of square pretzels (other shapes will work, but to have enough space to add the ears, squares work best)
- Hershey Kisses (or if you are a carmel fan, Rolos)
- 1 bag of M&M’s
- 1 bag of mini M&M’s
Now I am sure you are wondering why I didn’t specify just how pretzels and kisses you need, and the answer is because it doesn’t really matter. For me, I made 2 dozen because that is the number of kisses I had on hand. What matters is that you have one Kiss, one M&M, and two mini M&M’s for every pretzel to be able to make the Mickey shape.
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
- While the oven is heating, arrange the pretzels on the backing sheet. The baking sheet does not need to be greased.
- Unwrap and place a Hershey Kiss on each pretzel.
- Bake for 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and gently press a single M&M into each Kiss. Then add the two mini M&M’s above to make Mickey’s ears. If the chocolate is not soft enough to squish down when adding the M&M’s stick back in the oven for another 30 seconds – 1 minute.
- Allow to cool and harden, then serve or store.
Store in a container on the counter. Do not store them in the fridge as it will make the pretzels soggy. If you make more than you think you can eat before the pretzel becomes stale, you can place them in the freezer, but it is recommended to then eat from a frozen state since the pretzel will become soggy when thawing.
